Calm therapy room with two armchairs, representing private counselling and therapy in Witham, Chelmsford and online.

Private counselling for adults in Witham

I offer private counselling for adults in Witham, providing a confidential space to talk, think and make sense of what feels difficult.

You may be looking for counselling because you feel anxious, low, overwhelmed, stressed, or unsure why the same patterns keep repeating. You may be struggling with relationships, grief, self-esteem, work pressures, family difficulties, or a sense of feeling stuck.

Counselling offers a regular space where you can speak openly and begin to understand yourself in a deeper way.

A quiet space to think

Sessions in Witham take place in a quiet, private counselling space. Meeting in the room can offer a steady and reliable setting, away from the demands of everyday life.

Some people come to counselling with something specific they want to talk about. Others arrive with a more general feeling that something is not quite right. You do not need to have everything worked out before getting in touch. We can begin with whatever feels most important for you.

How I work

My approach is psychodynamic. This means we may think together about how past experiences, relationships and repeated patterns could be affecting how you feel now.

Psychodynamic counselling is not about being told what to do. It offers time to explore what may be happening beneath the surface, including thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to put into words.

Over time, counselling can help you develop a clearer understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the patterns that may be shaping your life.

Counselling may help with

People seek counselling for many different reasons, including:

Anxiety or stress
Low mood
Grief, loss or change
Relationship difficulties
Low self-esteem or self-doubt
Family difficulties
Work-related stress
Feeling overwhelmed or stuck
Repeated patterns in relationships or life choices
Experiences connected with neurodivergence, such as masking, feeling misunderstood, overwhelm or difference

Sessions in Witham

Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly.

I offer open-ended counselling rather than a fixed number of sessions. This means we do not need to decide at the beginning how long counselling will last. We can continue for as long as the sessions feel useful, reviewing this together as we go.

I also offer a free 30-minute initial consultation. This gives us the opportunity to talk about what brings you to counselling and whether working together feels right.

Taking the first step
